What a delightful book this inspirational romance turned out to be! I will admit, that at times, I wanted to give Kari a shove and tell her to quit running so scared! Ms. Cindy K. Green has done a wonderful job of expanding the plot of this romance and I enjoyed it all—from start to finish!…

As you can probably tell, Ms. Green’s characters are solid and embraceable; there are many and they are diverse. Conversely, they drew me into the story and did not let go. It is easy to imagine myself in a setting, such as a church, where I could function within this marvelous group of people! Ms. Green has presented a story with enough Gospel woven into it that anyone could believe; this is done, however, in a non-offensive manner. I highly recommend this work to anyone! It's Finally in Print!!

WOO-HOO!! I am so excited! A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Your Wedding officially released in print! I can hardly contain my enthusiasm. So head on over to Barnes & Noble, Borders, Amazon, or wherever you buy/order you books today.

To celebrate here is a little excerpt from the book:

A light snow started to flutter down on them in the open rink. It was magical. Kari’s heart beat faster as he took her hands and swung her around in circles. She screamed as they went faster and faster. When he let her go, she slid to the far side of the rink. After turning to see him coming toward her, she took off in the opposite direction. He started after her at a fast pace finally catching her.

Gathering her into his arms, he held her tightly. It felt natural to Kari, like she had always been meant to be there just under his chin. She titled her head up to look at him. He locked eyes with her and then pressed his mouth to hers in a kiss as tender and light as a summer breeze. She never wanted to leave this place but to be here with him always.

Kari felt their bodies separate with his blue eyes meeting her green ones in an expression of pleasure. He took her hand, leading her off the ice. Even though the weather outside was turning bitterly cold, Kari felt a warm glow flow through her. She finally felt the love she’d always wanted.

The Heroine from "A Funny Thing..."

When this story opens, Kari is a hurting soul. In the last year, she has lost her mother and had her engagement broken off. Now her closest friend and relative has gotten married and moved away. She feels very alone. And then she meets Randy. What was it about him that made her feel so at ease, enabling her to put aside all her previous anxiety attached to the wedding? He was nothing like Geoffrey, her previous fiancé. No, this man had the sense of humor Geoffrey completely lacked and a sincerity Geoffrey wasn’t even capable of. Still, Kari had loved him and now he was gone. All that remained were the wounds and the grief left in his wake. Meeting Randy Steele had momentarily taken away all those miserable feelings and replaced them with…amusement, she reflected.

And what are Randy’s first thoughts about Kari… Randy leaned back in his chair, trying to look at ease but all he could think about was Kari’s alluring green eyes and how delicate and irresistible she looked when she blushed. There was just something about her. The day they met in the rain she’d had a wreath of damp, brown hair curling around her face and the most incredible eyes, even though they were filled with anxiety. He wanted to see those eyes again. They were an unusual shade of green, appearing like a creamy sea green you might see out in the ocean after a storm.

How to Describe the Hero from A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Your Wedding…??

I believe the best way is to see the hero is through the eyes of our heroine. Kari meets Randy as she physically collides into him during a rainstorm while walking to her cousin’s wedding. What is her first impression? Well, there is his voice - The timbre of his voice was friendly and soothing. It reminded her of how she felt on rainy afternoons while curled up in her mother’s afghan, reading a book in front of a fire. And there is his smile - She’d never seen such an authentic smile. It was as if it started in his eyes and traveled down to his genial mouth. Then when she arrives at the wedding, she gets a better look at him. Randy Steele appeared to be no more than thirty. He stood tall and massive beside her with his dark hair gleaming under the lights, giving it a bluish luster…Steele. They must mean his eyes. The pastor had the most stunning steel blue eyes she’d ever seen. Viewing them under bright light instead of through gushing rain brought out their true sheen.

The low down on Randy is that he has a fun-loving personality and a sensitive spirit. He comes from an affluent family. His father wanted him to follow in his footsteps and become a lawyer but Randy felt called into the ministry. After finishing his pre-law degree, he went against his father and attended seminary instead of law school, cutting himself off from him parents as a result. But Randy doesn’t let that get him down. He maintains a good relationship with his younger sister who is nine years his junior. Now, he is a youth pastor at a small church and he loves it…but there is that issue of reaching his parents.

Next time I will introduce you to the heroine, Kari.

The Cover for "Funny Thing"

Here is the cover for "A Funny Thing." I was actually able to work with the cover artist as we created this cover. I found this couple after looking through over a thousand pieces of stock art. I look at the two on the cover and I really do see my hero and heroine. I see this scene on the cover as it would take place at the end of my story. My heroine is happy and my hero is so glad to have her in his arms at last.
